La Pietra del Focolare – Traditional Wines
The Winery founded in 1995, is located on the plateau between the hills of Castelnuovo Magra and Luni – the little village that hosted and gave its name to the ancient Roman port – on the south-east side of the Liguria region, which is strategic for its position and perched.
This small business project, aiming at reaching excellence, arises from the great passion for nature and viticulture that Stefano Salvetti and Laura Angelini inherited from their own grandparents, who were humble handicraftsmen of the vineyard: an ancient cultivation ethics combined with competence in pruning and vinification. In other words, this is a wealth of knowledge, enriched by careful attention to production, which was soon joined by the new idea of a short pruning, with replanting of traditional grapes varieties. A sort of meticulous care aiming at the recovery of the “old” vines as well, in order to enhance the diversity of the grapes characteristics, while respecting tradition and territory.
“The yellow sun, the red land and the blue sea frame our vineyards, often hidden by maritime pine woods, in the middle of clearings surrounded by gorses, heathers and scented Mediterranean plants…”
Stefano Salvetti
A “live”, natural and authentic wine holding the grape taste and Mediterranean fragrances, being “good” for people but also able to convey an emotion to the wine connoisseur. A goal that reflects and is also the result of a great dedication and love for nature, along with a meticulous, patient and infinite work in the vineyard as well as in the winery.

Our wines
“Il focolare trasmette alla pietra il suo calore
il sole irraggia la vite e dona ai grappoli il colore
il vino trasmette l’animo di chi l’ha creato a chi lo sa gustare
e le genti tutte fa’ cantare…”
Stefano Salvetti
